Warehouse Supervisor – Freight & Logistics

Looking for your next leadership role in a fast-paced warehouse setting? A well-established logistics and freight services company is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to join their Basildon team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid background in warehouse operations and a knack for keeping things running smoothly across multiple shifts.

You'll be overseeing warehouse staff, ensuring freight is handled with care and efficiency, and helping uphold safety, compliance, and operational standards across the board. This role offers shift variety, autonomy, and the chance to play a pivotal part in a secure and safety-conscious environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supervising daily warehouse activities and ensuring team adherence to procedures
• Overseeing safe and timely loading/unloading of cargo and containers
• Ensuring damage/shortage reporting and freight accountability
• Enforcing safety protocols (e.g., PPE compliance, forklift checks, secure freight handling)
• Supporting clean, orderly, and efficient warehouse operations
• Coordinating timely vehicle turnaround and smooth handovers
• Ensuring equipment maintenance and reporting issues proactively

What You’ll Bring

• At least 4 years of warehouse experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory capacity
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Valid Counterbalance FLT license (3000kg+); Flexi FLT experience is a plus
• Experience with groupage, container loading/unloading
• Stable work history demonstrating reliability and long-term commitment
• A valid UK driving license (essential for shunter training)

Other Key Details

• Shift pattern: Rotating early (07:00–15:30), mid (09:00–17:30), and late (11:30–20:00)
• DBS check required (must be clear)
• Interview process includes basic arithmetic, spelling, and attention to detail tests
• Proof of right to work in the UK required at interview
