Hydrokem Aerosols are located on the Wirral and specialise in the manufacture of aerosol and bag on valve products. We supply to a wide range of market sectors including personal care, healthcare/medical devices, veterinary, household, automotive and technical.

Job Summary:


We are seeking an experienced and proactive Warehouse Manager to lead and optimize our warehouse operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the full scope of warehouse activities, including goods in/out, third-party logistics, yard operations, and inventory control.


The successful candidate will manage and develop a small team, implement process improvements, and ensure alignment with safety, efficiency, and performance standards. A key focus will be on maintaining accurate stock levels, supporting production, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.


Main Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Lead the development of a focused, efficient, and high-performing warehouse operation, covering Goods In, Goods Out, and third-party logistic.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop a small, high-performing warehouse team.
  • Identify and implement innovative improvements to existing processes, driving efficiency across all warehouse functions.
  • Create and maintain clear, effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Collaborate closely with the Stock Control and Continuous Improvement teams to deliver a best-in-class warehouse operation.
  • Oversee inventory control processes, ensuring adherence to FIFO and effective stock rotation for optimal stock movement.
  • Support regular inventory counts, including monthly cycle counts and annual full stocktakes.
  • Manage all yard operations efficiently, ensuring safe and streamlined movement of goods.
  • Plan and allocate resources to meet both immediate operational needs and long-term strategic goals.
  • Monitor team performance against defined KPIs and take proactive steps to address performance gaps.
  • Conduct bi-annual performance reviews, identify training needs, and implement development plans for continuous team improvement.
  • Work closely with the Health & Safety Manager to ensure a strong safety culture is maintained across all warehouse activities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely stock availability to support seamless supply to production lines.


Personal Specifications:


  • Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong track record of successfully leading, managing, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Holds a current FLT licence; FLT Instructor certification is highly desirable, though extensive practical experience is also valued.
  • Demonstrates confidence and flexibility in managing shifting priorities and operational demands.
  • Proficient in using SAGE (or similar ERP systems) to accurately monitor, manage, and report on stock levels.
  • Skilled at identifying inefficiencies and driving process improvements through innovative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives.
