OverviewWe are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Manager to lead our team at our AkzoNobel site in Goole. As the warehouse transitions to closure, you'll oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance. With strategic management of colleagues, equipment, and tasks, you'll maintain high performance in key areas such as health and safety, workforce productivity, commercial effectiveness, and KPI achievement, driving results through to the final stage of operations. This role is being offered on a temporary, fixed-term contract ending July 2026. Working Monday - Friday between the hours of 08:30 - 16:30, you will be ensuring the smooth running of the warehouse operation, providing ongoing support and development to keep in line with the agreed budget and service targets. Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for the Warehouse function, whilst managing and leading a performance driven team Management of legal and operational compliance for the department Management, control and reporting of all costs, KPIs and operational statistics within budget Effective communication with the customer and internal colleagues Workforce planning and effective resourcing to cope with picking volumes Challenge current practices through the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiencies and effectively manage costs
Requirements / Qualifications
Are you looking for a short-term leadership role? Do you have experience managing warehouse operations and driving efficiency? Lead the final phase of our site's operations, ensuring a smooth and structured closure Previous warehouse management experience, ideally from working in a similar fast-moving and customer-focused environment Commercial and financial awareness, including budgeting Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification is preferred. IOSH qualification is essential Ability to work to strict deadlines, be able to prioritise and make decisions under pressure Reporting and presenting skills
