Greener Books Ltd is an environmentally conscious company specialising in the resale of pre‑loved books. We operate with a team of 25‑30 staff and a well‑structured warehouse workflow to ensure efficient and high‑quality operations. Job Summary We are looking for a strong, assertive, and independent Warehouse Manager to oversee day‑to‑day operations, drive long‑term growth strategy, manage staff performance, resolve operational issues, and implement growth initiatives. Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate activities of staff across multiple departments. Monitor daily workflow and ensure smooth operations between departments. Ensure quality control standards are upheld throughout inventory intake and order fulfilment. Address and resolve operational and technical issues, including marketplace and inventory management system challenges. Handle staff performance, attendance, and day‑to‑day HR concerns in collaboration with senior management. Train, support, and mentor team members to maintain high productivity and quality. Take responsibility for daily problem‑solving. Liaise with suppliers to resolve issues and improve efficiencies. Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse productivity. Play a key role in planning for business growth and expansion of operations. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment.
Requirements
Proven experience in a managerial role within an e‑commerce warehouse environment or book reselling operations. Strong leadership and team‑management skills. Excellent organisational and communication abilities. Ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Familiarity with inventory management systems and common logistics challenges. Assertive, driven, and growth‑minded with a clear vision for career progression. Ability to deal effectively with marketplace operations.
Desirable
Familiarity with shipping courier processes and dispatch systems. Technical troubleshooting experience with inventory software. Ambition to grow into a senior management role.
