Recruiting globally for the Supply Chain & Logistics Industry: Aerospace / Freight Forwarding / Customs & Trade Compliance / Shipping / Warehouse &… Our client, a highly regarded freight forwarding and logistics specialist for the aerospace industry, are looking for a Warehouse Optimisation & Product Manager to join their team based in the London Heathrow area. Main Purpose of the Role Reporting to the VP of Global Operations, the Warehouse Optimisation & Product Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence through process improvement, data‑led decision‑making, and the implementation of innovative warehouse technologies (e.g., WMS, automation, analytics platforms). This hybrid role combines operational efficiency with product ownership - ensuring warehouse workflows, systems, and teams operate at peak performance to achieve business goals. The position plays a key role in maintaining the company’s industry‑leading warehouse service offering across its global network, delivering measurable value and exceptional results for their clients. Operational Efficiency
Analyse current warehouse processes (receiving, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control) to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks. Develop and implement strategies to improve throughput, accuracy, and cost‑effectiveness. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies. Establish, monitor, and refine KPIs such as order accuracy, pick rate, fulfilment time, and space utilisation. Standardise operational best practices and SOPs across all warehouse locations. Develop slotting and storage strategies in conjunction with the use of storage media to maximise storage density and operational efficiency.
Product & Systems Management
Own the roadmap, implementation, and optimisation of warehouse management and automation systems (WMS, ERP integrations, dashboards, robotics). Collaborate with internal IT and external vendors to design scalable, efficient, and tailored technology solutions. Gather and translate operational feedback into actionable system improvements and feature development. Lead system testing, training, and change‑management activities to ensure smooth adoption and measurable ROI.
Data & Reporting
Design and maintain analytics dashboards and reports to monitor performance against key metrics. Conduct root‑cause and trend analyses to identify operational risks and opportunities. Deliver regular insights and recommendations to leadership, enabling strategic decision‑making and continuous optimisation.
Customer
Partner with Customer Solutions Teams to deliver comprehensive and compelling RFQ responses. Translate customer requirements into tailored operational and technology‑based solutions. Collaborate with IT to integrate customer‑driven technology initiatives. Attend Customer QBRs to present performance data, discuss continuous improvement initiatives, and identify cost‑saving opportunities. Drive new business and warehouse utilisation. Partner with cross‑functional teams (Customer Solutions, Operations, Transport, and IT) to align on efficiency and technology goals. Lead workshops and training sessions to embed a culture of continuous improvement within warehouse teams. Act as the bridge between warehouse operations, technology, and product development. Mentor and develop staff in the use of analytics and data‑driven decision‑making.
To Be Considered for the Warehouse Optimisation & Product Manager
Preferred - Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Operations, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 5 years’ experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain management. Proven success in process improvement and / or warehouse systems management. Track record of implementing automation, WMS, or efficiency‑driven technologies. Proficiency in data analytics tools and project management methodologies. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven mindset. Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills. Ability to lead cross‑functional projects across technical and non‑technical teams. Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or related continuous improvement frameworks (certification preferred). Strong project and change management experience (Agile, PMP, or Prince2 desirable). Flexible and adaptable with the ability to travel globally if required.
