Stores Operative  / Warehouse

Our nationwide client is seeking a reliable and committed Stores Operative to join their busy depot team, in the Canning town area. This role is essential to the smooth running of a large warehouse that supports numerous mobile maintenance teams.

Must live close to the Canning Town area. The position for the first 12 weeks will be Monday to Friday, from 7am to 3pm. After 12 week period, it  will move to shift work, which will be occasional nights shift 7pm to 6am. The hourly pay rate is £13.85 PAYE plus holiday pay on top. Duration – long term role, possibility to go permanent after 12 week review. Start date – Looking for someone to start ASAP, before Xmas. Weekly pay.

The ideal candidate must have previous Warehouse operative experience, or as working as a Stores controller within a warehouse.

Key duties include: • Unloading and recording inbound deliveries • Updating stock control systems • Receiving and collating equipment requests from the service team • Operating forklifts • Performing general warehousing tasks Skills • Basic IT skills for updating in-house tracking systems • Previous experience in stores or warehouse environments (essential) • Physically fit to handle lifting parcels, with equipment available to assist • Good customer service skills • Reliability and commitment • Forklift licence (preference for counterbalance forklift experience) • Attention to detail • Ability to work well within a team • Good communication skills • Time management and organisational skills • Candidate must live within 1 hour commute, to the Canning town area.

Certifications & Standards Valid forklift licence (counterbalance preferred) Willingness to participate in pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and medical examination

Forklift licence would be a advantage
