Warehouse Operative – Network Services, Logistics & Warehousing
The Warehouse Operative role is based at our Chorley location (PR7 3JP), working Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, with occasional earlier or later starts. You must be commutable to our Chorley base.

The Warehouse Operative will help keep the nation’s critical networks connected and protected 24/7.
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Operative will be responsible for carrying out general warehousing and stores duties. The Warehouse Operative must be able to follow general work instructions without direct supervision. The primary purpose of this role is to provide warehouse logistics / logistical support to internal and external customers, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of materials to support contractual requirements.
Warehouse Operative – Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving deliveries of goods and supplies
- Checking deliveries for damage, shortages, or missing items
- Storing and locating goods accurately
- Conducting stock control, including perpetual inventory checks
- Ordering raw materials as required
- Moving stock by hand or using a forklift truck
- Processing, picking, and packing orders for field teams
- Loading goods for dispatch
- Maintaining accurate stock records using relevant inventory systems
- Keeping paperwork and filing systems up to date
- Cleaning and tidying work areas, including the yard
- Packing and wrapping goods
- Arranging logistics and transportation collections and deliveries
- Coordinating waste management collections
- Performing daily safety checks on counterbalance and narrow aisle forklift trucks
- Assisting less experienced staff when needed
- Managing yard and vehicle movements
- Conducting risk assessments as required
Warehouse Operative – Ideal Candidate:
The ideal Warehouse Operative will be an organised, reliable, and a hardworking individual with proven experience in a warehouse environment. You will demonstrate strong knowledge of health and safety practices, possess a keen eye for detail, and be capable of working efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills, flexibility, and a friendly, polite manner are essential. Experience with inventory systems and forklift operation is required (Forklift Truck Counterbalance License holder).
Warehouse Operative – Key Requirements:
- Proven experience working in a warehouse environment
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
- Experience with inventory control systems such as Oracle or similar
- Competency using RF scanners
- Basic data entry skills
- Manual Handling experience and awareness
- Current valid Forklift Truck Licence (Counterbalance)
- Polite and friendly manner
- Good physical fitness
- Strong teamworking skills
- Ability to work quickly and accurately
- Honest, reliable, and punctual
- Flexible approach to working hours
- Good timekeeping
