Responsibilities

  • Overseeing day-to-day warehousing operations for a busy recycling collection business, covering everything from goods into outbound.
  • Recommending and implementing measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of all departments and staff work performance.
  • Establishing and adjusting work procedures to meet company demands.
  • Providing leadership by establishing clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices, health, and safety.
  • Administrative duties as required to ensure daily KPI performance is achieved.
  • Overseeing and staying up-to-date on compliance and H&S regulations.
  • Training and monitoring staff in standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safe work practices, including new employee inductions.
  • Maintaining daily communication with management.
  • Planning, coordinating and monitoring the receipt, order assembly and dispatch of goods.
  • Using space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently and ensuring quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met.
  • Having a clear understanding of the company’s policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these.
  • Coordinating the use of automated and computerised systems where necessary.
  • Organising the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress.
  • Motivating, organising and encouraging teamwork within the work force to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded.
  • Maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment.

Experience & Skills

Minimum warehouse management experience required: 3 years

  • Well organised and flexible with time to meet reasonable business demands.
  • Strong team player, confident and motivated.
  • Excellent people management skills, with a track record of coaching and developing a team.
  • Good knowledge of Excel and Microsoft.
  • Good leadership and administrative skills.
  • Have good knowledge of HR and disciplinary procedures.
  • Confident and determined when faced with difficult decisions.
  • Remuneration: £40K-£45K p.a.
